What is GB WhatsApp?
GB WhatsApp (commonly downloaded as GB WhatsApp Pro) is an unofficial modification of the official WhatsApp Android client. It uses the same servers, the same phone-number login flow and the same end-to-end encryption as stock WhatsApp — but adds 60+ extra features the official app refuses to ship, including Ghost Mode, 4,000+ themes, scheduled messages, auto-reply, anti-delete, 1 GB attachments, in-chat translation and the ability to run a second number alongside your existing install.
The project began in 2014 as part of the broader WhatsApp Plus family — a wave of WhatsApp mods built by independent developers (Alex Mods, Fouad Mods, YoMods and others) for users who wanted more control than the official client allowed. GB WhatsApp quickly grew the largest following thanks to its faster update cadence and stronger anti-ban routing. As of June 2026 the current release, GB WhatsApp Pro v18.80, has the most active WhatsApp-mod branch in 2026 based on release cadence and community-thread activity. We don't independently verify install counts or cross-mod ban-rate comparisons — figures quoted in earlier versions of this page were placeholder content and have been removed.
Crucially, GB WhatsApp is not a "lite" version, a clone, or a phishing site — it is the same official WhatsApp APK with patches applied to expose features that already exist inside the binary, plus new ones added on top. Your messages still travel through Meta's WhatsApp servers; your number stays the same; your contacts carry across. The only thing that changes is the local Android app and the privacy / customization controls it gives you.
Because the install is not on Google Play (Play Store does not allow third-party modifications), it is distributed as a direct APK download. That is the trade-off — one manual "install unknown app" toggle in exchange for features stock WhatsApp does not offer. The v18.80 build available on this page is the most recent stable release, sandbox-scanned and signature-verified before publication.

Reading the table: three clusters worth separating
Privacy rows (Ghost Mode, hide online, anti-delete) represent features stock WhatsApp has deliberately chosen not to ship — not oversights, but product decisions to keep the read-receipt and online-status system symmetric for all users. GB WhatsApp Pro's privacy rows are the category with the least chance of ever appearing in an official WhatsApp update, since removing symmetry is a trust-model change Meta has held for a decade.
Limit rows (file size, photo batch, status length, pinned chats) are quantitative caps Meta sets for infrastructure reasons at 3-billion-user scale — a 100 MB attachment cap keeps server storage and CDN costs predictable. These are the rows most likely to shrink over time as official WhatsApp gradually raises its own limits; several (status length, pin count) have already moved up in past years.
Customisation rows (themes, fonts, tick styles) are the least likely to ever ship officially — Meta prioritises visual consistency across 180+ countries, and a large theme store runs directly against that goal.
